AUSTRALIANBIG YEAR 2022

WORTH PROTECTING

Let wonder
become action.

The birds welcomed me into their world. Seeing the pressures on that world made conservation an essential part of my journey.

Every habitat matters.

Travelling across Australia revealed both remarkable wildlife and the fragility of the places it depends on. Habitat loss and introduced predators were no longer distant issues. They were part of the landscapes I was visiting.

I also met people doing determined, practical work to give birds a future. These are two conservation causes I have supported and want to share with visitors to this site.

Orange-bellied Parrot

This small parrot was one of the birds that deepened my interest in conservation. Wildcare Tasmania provides a way to support work dedicated to its future in the wild.
